Rihanna Uplifts a Fan with Cancer Who Said She Looked ‘Terrible’ Without Her Wig
Rihanna is spreading good vibes.
The nine-time Grammy winner, 38, made a fan’s day by posing for a photo with her in a supermarket and sharing a few words of encouragement after learning she had cancer and was feeling insecure about her appearance.
“I look terrible. I live with cancer. Can I take a picture with you?” a fan asked Rihanna in a now-viral video shared by Jason Lee for a segment called “Jason Lee Unlocked: Grocery Shopping with Rihanna,” on Monday, July 6.

Immediately after the fan posed the question, the “Diamonds” singer, without hesitation, agreed to snap a picture and complimented her immediately.
“You don’t look terrible,” Rihanna assured her before posing with her for the photo. “Everyone knows me. I don’t have my wig on,” shared the fan.
The pop and R&B superstar sweetly wrapped her arm around the fan, who was also excited at the fact that they shared the same name, Robyn (the “We Found Love” singer’s real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty).
“And your name’s Robyn, like mine,” she gushed as Rihanna went cheek to cheek with her and smiled for the camera. “Thank you. Big fan of yours,” she told the singer.
The fan then whipped out her phone and scrolled through her camera roll to pull up a photo of herself wearing the wig to show Rihanna.
“Actually, this is what I look like with my wig,” she said while looking back at her pictures. “You’re going to say, ‘You’re a true Robyn’,” she added.

“You know what I live for? A good hairline, honey. This is what I like to see,” Rihanna told the fan while gesturing at her natural hair. “Anytime you meet anybody, don’t do that s—. You’re fire just like that,” she told her.
The fan asked, “Can I quote you?” To which Rihanna replied, “Hell yeah! Verbatim.”
“See you on the tube!” the fan said.
“Don’t ever do that again,” the “Umbrella” singer said. “You’re fire as is.”
The fan replied, “Thank you. You make me feel good.”

Lee’s video comes about one week after Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, showed love to her and their son, Riot Rose, during one of his Don’t Be Dumb tour stops at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Saturday, June 27.
While the rapper, 37, was suspended above the stage thousands of fans, Rihanna could be seen holding their 2-year-old son in the audience.

“Riot Rose, hey son,” Rocky yelled into the mic, as seen in videos shared to social media. “Hey buddy. Daddy loves you, son.”
Although he was wearing a pair of teal over-the-ear headphones to protect his ears, Riot immediately looked up at the stage and started waving back at his dad while Rihanna filmed the moment.
