Will Smith remains a major Hollywood star, despite recent controversies. His latest film,  Bad Boys: Ride or Die, has been a success.

But fans are also celebrating the fourth of July by revisiting his blockbuster movie,  Independence Day, released in 1996. In the film, Smith plays U.S. Marine pilot Steven Hiller, who leads a counterattack against alien invaders.

The movie is known for its iconic scene where he punches an alien and delivers the famous line, “Welcome to Earth.” This has become a fan favorite over nearly three decades.

The film’s focus on  Independence Day has solidified its association with the holiday.
