“SOLD OWN DAUGHTER” Wendy Williams Reveals Why Brandy’s Mom Sold Her To Wanya Morris At 16 | HO’

Brandy reveals in her memoir she was only 16 when she started secretly dating much older Boyz II Men star Wanya Morris… and lost her virginity to him.

But the real twist? Insiders and Wendy Williams say her own mom, Sonya, introduced them and basically sold her to him for fame and money

LOS ANGELES — Brandy has finally broken her silence. In her new memoir, the singer reveals that she was just 16 years old when she began a secret relationship with Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men — who was in his early 20s at the time.

And now, Wendy Williams is pointing the finger at someone else: Brandy’s own mother.

“The shame ends here. The silence ends here,” Brandy writes. “I was not a fast girl with a crush. I was not a dramatic teenager who couldn’t handle rejection. I was not an unstable, obsessive fan. He was an adult, and it’s time the world understood the difference.”

According to Brandy, Morris began calling her regularly, becoming a mentor and confidant. After she opened for Boyz II Men on a world tour, the relationship grew closer — and became what she now calls “inappropriate.”

“It seems to me that he weaponized my admiration, shaped my friendship into dependence, my respect into desire,” she writes. “I felt swept up in a current I couldn’t control. I was in over my head. Sneaking around with Wanya and lying to my parents had become a constant.”

She says Morris emphasized her age at almost every moment they were together — meaning he knew exactly what he was doing. She also reveals she lost her virginity to him, despite initially wanting to wait until marriage. Morris became overly critical, tried to control her, and cheated constantly.

“Imagine having to deal with the infidelity of a grown man at just 16,” one commentator noted.

But here’s where it gets even darker. According to multiple sources — and even Wanya Morris himself — Brandy’s mother, Sonya Norwood, was directly involved.

Morris has previously stated that Sonya reached out to him because Brandy was a big fan. He claimed the intimate connection only grew once Brandy was “of age” — and that it had Sonya’s full support.

“Brandy and I were really, really close,” Morris said in an earlier interview. “Once she turned of age, we had been hanging around each other so much that there became to be some sort of connection, an intimate connection. We actually fell in love.”

Nobody believed him at the time. People from back then knew the relationship started when Brandy was much younger. But Morris doubled down, saying Sonya approved.

Now, Wendy Williams — who has remained relatively quiet on the subject for years — is reportedly saying that Sonya should not get a pass.

According to insiders, Wendy knew how these industry situations worked back in her radio days. But she stayed quiet because Sonya was “too powerful and too aggressive to go up against.”

“It’s like Wendy wasn’t clueless,” one source said. “She just knew which battles would cost her everything.”

This isn’t the first time Sonya’s parenting has been questioned. In 2002, Brandy quickly married Robert Smith and soon announced she was expecting a baby. But in a 2004 interview, Robert revealed they were never legally married — explaining that Sonya came up with the idea to protect Brandy’s public image.

“It was all about the image for her,” one commentator said.

Brandy also suffered from severe eating disorders for years. During VH1’s Behind the Music in 2012, she opened up.

“I wanted to be so thin. That was my main thing,” she said. “So I started not taking care of myself, not eating properly, not eating at all, diet pills, regurgitating, and all of these things that girls do. People don’t understand that being the hottest star or making the most money does not mean anything. I was making so much money. I was omnipresent. And I was the unhappiest teenager probably in the world.”

In the fall of 1999, Brandy was hospitalized after her mother found her dazed and dehydrated because she was hardly eating anything.

Reports have also claimed Sonya was responsible for many of Brandy’s industry beefs — including with Countess Vaughn, Monica, and even Aaliyah.

“Based on reports, Sonya put it in Brandy’s head that she was better than all her peers,” one insider said. “She did not like Countess Vaughn and convinced Brandy that Countess was trying to steal her shine.”

Brandy’s issues with Monica escalated to the point of a physical altercation at VMA rehearsals in 1998. Years later, both women confirmed the exchange happened.

“I was about to kill her back then,” Monica admitted on Angie Martinez’s radio show. “And then she would have blamed everything on me.”

There was also beef with Aaliyah. Brandy reportedly made comments about Aaliyah’s image being “too grown” and said her mother would never approve.

“How ironic that she was also dating Wanya,” one commentator noted.

As for why Sonya approved of that relationship? Allegedly, Brandy was paying all of her bills.

“She let Brandy do whatever she wanted because she didn’t want to be financially cut off,” a source said.

Online commentators are now calling for Sonya to be held accountable alongside Wanya Morris.

“If we’re going to cancel Wanya, we should also cancel her along with him,” one person wrote.

Another added, “Sonya should be held responsible for everything else Brandy went through — which was possibly a consequence of her being in an extremely toxic relationship with an adult at such a young age.”

Brandy’s memoir is set for release in 2026. But the conversation has already begun.

“I guess everybody’s secret is going to be coming out in 2026,” one commentator said.
