A family feud over the health of a toddler has exploded into a full-blown criminal case, with the grandmother of Blueface’s child now facing kidnapping charges after she allegedly snatched the boy from his mother to rush him to a medical specialist.
Karlissa Saffold, the mother of incarcerated rapper Blueface, was taken away in handcuffs from a hospital after a dramatic confrontation with Chrisean Rock, the mother of her grandson, Junior. The altercation, which unfolded after Karlissa allegedly took the nearly three-year-old without permission, has laid bare a bitter custody war fueled by accusations that Chrisean has been denying the child necessary medical care.
According to sources, Karlissa did not act impulsively. The dramatic intervention came on the heels of a public interview where Chrisean appeared to dismiss doctors’ concerns about her son, admitting he still is not walking or talking while insisting nothing was wrong with him.
‘My son does not have a disability,’ Chrisean said in a recent interview. ‘He is developing at his own pace and hitting his milestones in his own timing. Every child is different and I’m confident in his growth.’
She added, ‘I can’t wait when my son start walking and talking. I’m going just be like, “Exactly. I told y’all.”’
The comments ignited a firestorm among fans and family alike. Critics pointed out that Junior is nearly three years old—an age where developmental delays in walking and talking are typically considered significant red flags.
‘The fact ain’t nobody came and saved that child yet is crazy,’ one fan wrote. ‘That baby almost three, can’t walk or talk, and meows like a cat. He barely has any motor skills and can hardly hold his own head up as if he’s a newborn.’

The concerns escalated when Karlissa went public with her own accusations, claiming that Chrisean had been blocking efforts to get Junior the help he needed. In a series of scathing social media posts, Karlissa alleged that the child’s disabilities were the result of substance use during pregnancy—a claim that appeared to be supported by leaked medical documents.
‘He has several disabilities and I told Jon not to agree with you and this Willy Wonka BS,’ Karlissa wrote, referring to her son, Blueface. ‘The revelation he gave you was not the smoke or drink during your pregnancy and you ignored it. Now stop this BS.’
She continued, ‘God gave us doctors, lawyers, and family to help us. When you sick, you take yourself to the doctor. And when you was fighting your cases, you used a lawyer. These games must stop.’
According to leaked medical records, Junior allegedly suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome and neonatal abstinence syndrome—a condition caused by withdrawal from substances exposed to during pregnancy. The documents also reportedly listed a seizure disorder, spasticity, cortical visual disorder, and a lengthy list of recommended specialists, including neurology, orthopedics, cardiology, and palliative care.
The documents further alleged that Chrisean did not receive prenatal care during her pregnancy and that a urine test taken before giving birth tested positive for opioids, cocaine, and other substances.
Karlissa claimed she had tried to intervene earlier but was misled. ‘When them doctors told her about them disabilities she was five months,’ Karlissa wrote. ‘When they give you an amniocentesis during your pregnancy that late, they definitely fill you in with any disabilities or details. No one is to blame but the mother who chose to ignore me during that pregnancy.’
She added that she had previously asked Chrisean about therapy for Junior, only to be told he was already receiving it—a claim Karlissa says was false.

Other friends and associates have also come forward. Chrisean’s former friend Janet claimed she tried to connect Chrisean with her cousin, a specialist in developmental issues, but Chrisean refused.
‘I did the best I could,’ Janet said. ‘My cousin works with autistic children. She works one-on-one with all kinds of children. It’s like when people are in denial of stuff, it’s like you can’t help people when they’re in denial of what’s actually going on in reality.’
Another acquaintance, Monise Slaughter, alleged that Junior does not even have a pediatrician. ‘The baby doesn’t even have a pediatrician, and I know that for a fact,’ she wrote. ‘He hasn’t been seen by one in almost a year. He was born in a birthing center, not a hospital. It was up to her to take him to a pediatrician before 12 weeks. She didn’t.’
Slaughter added that Chrisean has allegedly avoided taking Junior to a physician because she fears Child Protective Services will remove him from her custody.
The tension finally boiled over when Karlissa, according to an insider, tricked Chrisean into meeting up with Blueface. Once they were together, Karlissa allegedly took Junior, made a run for it, and drove him to a pediatric specialist she believed could help the child.
Chrisean quickly realized what was happening, followed Karlissa to the hospital, and caused a scene. Police were called, and Karlissa was arrested on the spot.
She now faces multiple charges, including kidnapping of a minor.
The arrest has divided fans. Some believe Karlissa overstepped by taking the law into her own hands. Others, however, are questioning what has been happening behind closed doors with Junior and why his mother appears to be resisting medical intervention.
‘I don’t know how we was able to watch it legally, but we all watched that [expletive] legally,’ one commentator noted, referencing the couple’s reality television presence. ‘We know hernias and cleft foot and different problems like that. We know what that come from. We got kids. They tell us when we pregnant what to do, what not to do, what could happen.’
As the legal proceedings against Karlissa move forward, the broader question remains unresolved: who will ensure Junior receives the medical care he needs—and at what cost to the family already torn apart by the fight over him?
