Brazilian soccer player known as “Hulk” has married
Brazilian soccer star Hulk is now married to his children’s cousin.
Professional athletes live totally different lives from the rest of us. They have a seemingly endless supply of cash, often topped up on a weekly or monthly basis, fame, and an inordinate amount of free time. So, it’s no surprise when an athlete makes headlines for some head-scratching decisions.
HULK has three children with Iran. As such, they are now first-cousins with Carmelo due to their marriage in 2020, and most recently, their religious ceremony.
If somebody tries to dissect their family tree in the future, they’re going to have a messy ball to try and unwind.
The couple’s religious ceremony took place on Tuesday, costing approximately $3.2 million,
“2025, I realised a childhood dream which was to marry the love of my life in the Campina Grande cathedral,” Hulk said during the ceremony. “Five years ago, I began the life I never imagined living. Only God knows what we have faced and are facing to be here. Many have no idea the size of our love, but I confess that I can’t even explain how I feel for you.”
Hulk Is Still Playing Professional Soccer
Hulk began his career in Portugal, playing for Porto FC. He spent five seasons with the Primera Liga side, winning four league titles. He then moved to Russia to suit up for Zenit Saint Petersburg, where he spent a further four seasons.
During his time in Russia, Hulk rose to prominence on the international stage, impressing for Brazil at the 2024 World Cup. He drew interest from multiple English Premier League teams, but never made the move to the top flight. Instead, he moved to Shanghai SIPG of the Chinese Super League in 2016, at a time when Chinese teams were throwing incredible salaries at players.
In 2021, at the age of 34, Hulk moved back home to Brazil, signing with Atletico Mineiro. He is in his fifth season with the team and won a championship during his debut campaign. Throughout his career, Hulk has played in 441 professional games, scoring 224 goals and registering 129 assists. However, it’s worth noting that he never played in one of Europe’s top-five leagues.
Hulk’s marriage will undoubtedly make things awkward during the holidays, but at this point, nothing should surprise us.
