Jamie Foxx Breaks Silence After Health Scare: ‘I Went to Hell and Back’ (Video)

Jamie Foxx said he “went to hell and back” since his health scare three months ago.

The A-list actor reportedly suffered a stroke while in Atlanta working on a movie in April.

The 55-year-old star made a miraculous recovery since being transferred to a renowned stroke rehab facility in Chicago in May.

In a video posted on his Instagram page on Friday, Jamie spoke to his fans about his “hellish” experience.

“I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through,” he said, before adding that he’s not “blind” or “paralyzed.”

Jamie was overcome with emotion as he described being hooked up to tubes in an ICU.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man,” he said as he fought back tears.

“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.”

Jamie praised his sister Deondra Dixon and daughter Corinne Foxx for saving his life.

“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” he said.

“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight — they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me — and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these. But, I’m coming back, and I am able to work.”

Jamie is currently starring in the Netflix sci-fi comedy thriller “They Cloned Tyrone.” The movie debuted with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and it is Netflix’s biggest hit of 2023.
