Okaloosa County still searching for missing 10-year-old
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for 10-year-old Trinity Eslinger.
Officials say an extensive search effort took place throughout the day on Friday in the area of the Destin East Pass. Trinity was last reportedly seen in the water Thursday night between O’Steen Beach and the L Jetties in Destin.
OCSO deployed two vessels and ten divers, who conducted a total of 24 dives in an effort to find Trinity. Beach Patrol Units also search the shoreline, and Community Resource Deputies were deployed to help fill the operational gaps in the search.
The sheriff’s office says they are grateful for the public safety partners who assisted them on Friday, including three vessels from Eglin Air Force Base, one vessel from Destin Fire with dive support from North Bay Fire, and multiple vessels with divers—as well as a helicopter— from Florida Fish and Wildlife, all working in close coordination with OCSO personnel.
“Our hearts are with Trinity’s family, and we join the community in praying for Trinity and her family as well as for strength during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Eric Aden.
Search operations will continue on Saturday.
