Russell Wilson Talks Being a Proud & Loving Stepdad to Ciara’s Son
“You realize that every kid matters in this world,” he continued. “Every person matters, every child matters, every heart matters, every soul matters, every mind matters.. That’s why we’re here honestly, for situations like that.”
Last night’s event raised at least $300,000 for the Why Not You Foundation—$100,000 of which was donated by Russell himself, according to the Seattle Times. The foundation, launched by the athlete in 2014, “is dedicated to creating real and lasting change in the world by motivating, empowering and preparing today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders,” according to its website.
Russell really does seem to believe in building up the next generation. While hosting Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards for the second year in a row, he was a total natural. His sign-off was sincere, too, as he proclaimed, “Kids you are the next generation. Keep believing, keep dreaming, keep going to school…Nickelodeon, I’m out!”
